Your interview and your data

Last updated: October 5, 2026

You were invited to a short voice interview. This page explains, in plain language, what happens with what you say. The short version: you talk with an AI interviewer, your answers become a written transcript that is analysed for the organization that invited you, your voice is never recorded or stored, and you can ask for everything to be deleted at any time.

Who is asking, and who we are

The interview belongs to the organization that invited you (its name is on the interview page). They decide what is asked and receive the results. Underheard Studio operates the interview technology on their behalf. Questions about the study itself are best directed to them; questions about the platform and this page go to support@underheard.ai.

You are talking with an AI

The interviewer is an AI voice assistant, not a person. It asks the questions the organization prepared and follows up on what you say. It does not make any decisions about you, and it is not trying to sell you anything.

What we collect

  • Your voice during the interview, processed live to produce a written transcript. The audio itself is never recorded or stored.
  • Your first name, if your invitation included it.
  • Basic technical information needed to run the call, such as your browser type.
  • When you use an open study link, we store a study-specific identifier in your browser for 90 days after each visit. It lets a return visit from that browser open the same personal interview.

We do not analyse your voice itself. There is no emotion detection from audio and no voice identification. All analysis works on the written transcript.

What it is used for

Your transcript is analysed to produce a research report for the organization that invited you: what respondents liked, what they struggled with, what they suggested. Your answers are never used for advertising and never sold.

If the inviting organization has enabled public review invitations, transcript analysis may also determine whether a voluntary invitation to leave a public review appears after the interview.

How long we keep it

Your voice is not recorded: the audio is processed live and never stored. The written transcript is kept as part of the study's results, until the study or the account that owns it is deleted, or until you ask us to remove your interview.

Who processes it

A few service providers process data to make the interview work, under contracts that limit what they may do with it:

Your choices and rights

  • The interview only starts when you tap Start, and you can stop at any moment.
  • You can ask us for a copy of your interview data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it: support@underheard.ai.
  • Withdrawing is as easy as taking part: one email, no questions asked.
  • If you believe your data is mishandled, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

Cookies

The interview page sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The study-specific identifier above is used only to resume the same personal interview.

Changes

If this page changes in a meaningful way, we will update it and its date.
